Unrealistic Expectations of Healers

The following has been said before on this forum. However, due to recent pvp experiences, I feel that a reiteration is needed. I believe that, in general, some people have unrealistic expectations of their healers when they group up with them for pvp. There are things that a healer, whether it be cleric or chant, can and cannot do for you. So if you happen to die, you might want to keep some facts in mind before taking your frustrations out on your healer.

1. Don't expect your healer to be able to keep you alive against a zerg.

This is just not within the realm of possibility. You're going to get burnt fast 12 v 2 even if you're an xform. And this is considering all possible cds a cleric or a chant can pop, including Acquittal, WoQ, Curtain of Aether, Elemental Screen, Brilliant Protection. I'd think that this wouldn't need to be stated, being common sense, but what is the first thing I hear in group when someone gets zerged and dies?

"Where's my heals/healers???!!!"

2. A healer can't do anything when silence locked.

Healers cannot dispel silence. They'd have to pop Greater Healing Pot (GHP) to get rid of it. However, GHP can only remove 2 debuffs. If silence is buried under 2 or more debuffs, it cannot be potted. Several classes have the ability to silence. Most people equip a silence gs on their pvp weapon these days. It is common, unfortunately, for a healer to pot a silence only to be silenced again. Dual wield classes who equip double silence are an especial pain in the ass.

Despite this, I often get interrogated when I die to silence lock. "Did you forget to pot it?" No, I didn't. I was spamming GHP which has a 30 second cd. Jeez.

3. Clerics are focused first in group pvp. Even if they have a defensive set (block, MR) equipped, they may die fast.

Which is why clerics appreciate being BG'ed, whether by the temp or the sm's pet. Having MR or block does not mean that they are invincible (unless they are eclipse 2.8 k MR against a group of magic classes). So don't count on them being invincible. And don't be so hard on them when they, invariably, do die.

"Y u no heal urself?" You try healing yourself when silence locked and cc'ed by an entire group.

Note: Often chants are focused too. This applies to them as well.

4. Blaming your healer for everything is not going to magically improve their performance.

They'll just facepalm at your ignorance and, unless they care for you and/or are masochists, avoid grouping with you next time.

Bonus: A little word of encouragement goes a long way!

"That flash of recovery saved my ass!"
"Great timing on popping Aetheric Field! Couldn't have guard dived without it!"

Healers are tasked with keeping you alive while having to, at the same time, shoulder the blame when things go wrong. A nod of acknowledgement will brighten their day. Recommended if you want them to be happy working with you.

Source: Currently active as support chanter. Has an endgame heal spec cleric.

Disclaimer: Does not apply to healers who don't heal!

Fire Gleeful Ladder replied to xform and flight time

Greetings, Daeva, We understand your frustration and appreciate you reaching out to the community for help. Not receiving a verification email is a common issue that many players have encountered across various games. We’ve checked the forums and have a few potential fixes you can try. Hopefully, one of these will help you get into the game!

Possible Fixes for Verification Email Issue

Check Your Email Folders: This may seem obvious, but it's the most common solution. Please check your spam, junk, and other filtered folders. Sometimes, a legitimate email can be mistakenly flagged and sent there. Add Aion to Your Whitelist: To prevent future emails from being blocked, add the official Aion email address (often something like `noreply@aiononline.com` or an equivalent from NCSoft/Gameforge) to your email account's contact list or whitelist. This tells your email provider that you trust the sender. Try a Different Email Provider: Some email providers, particularly those like Hotmail, Outlook, or Live, are known to be overly aggressive with their spam filters. If you used one of these, consider creating a new account with a different provider, such as Gmail, and try the registration process again. Many players report better success with services like Gmail. Wait for the Email: Depending on server load and other factors, there can sometimes be a significant delay in receiving the verification email. In some cases, it may take several hours or even a full day to arrive. If you've just created your account, we recommend waiting a while longer before assuming it's a bug. Contact Aion Support Directly: If none of the above steps work, the best course of action is to contact the official Aion support team. They have the tools to manually verify your account or provide a direct solution. You can typically find a link to their support portal on the official game website. They will likely ask for your account name and the email address you used. We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing you in Atreia soon! Feel free to update us if you find a solution that works for you, as it may help other players with the same problem. Best regards, The Forum Moderator Team
